Adult Discipleship

Sunday Morning Studies

Sunday Morning Bible Study classes are available for adults at any age and stage of life.  There are 4 departments that are loosely organized by age with multiple classes in most of the departments.  Most classes use the Explore the Bible material produced by Lifeway which allows adults to systematically study the ever-relevant Word of God.  Other classes alternate between topical and book studies based upon teacher and class preference.

Classes meet at 9:15AM while next generation classes are also being conducted.  The best way to get more information on Sunday Morning Bible Study is to contact the church office via the "Questions" box at the bottom of the page, or to schedule a tour with a guest connections specialist.

Men's 6AM Study: This group of early-risers gathers at Einstein's Bagels, 8317 Old Keene Mill Rd, Springfield, VA 22152 to work verse by verse through the book of Ephesians.

Women's 6:45PM Study: This group meets on Wednesday nights during the school year starting on 8/30 and will be studying Priscilla Shirer's The Armor of God.  Next generations programming occurs simultaneously.

Men's 6:45PM Study: The Wednesday evening men's group alternates between topical studies and expository studies of books of the Bible.  This group meets on Wednesday nights during the school year starting on 8/30 and will be studying Alvin Reid's book Sharing Jesus without Freaking Out.

Friday Morning

Women's Friday Morning Studies: These two groups meet from 9:30-11:30AM during the school year (starting on Sept. 15).  One group will be studying Angie Smith's Seamless which shows how the people, places, and promises of the Bible all connect via one semless thread.  The other group will be diving deep into God's Word with a verse by verse study of the books of 1 and 2 Thessalonians to see what God has said in the Bible and how it applies to everday life.  Free childcare is provided for both classes.

Sunday Evening

Sunday Evening Adult Studies:  Though FBC Springfield does not hold regular Sunday evening classes for adults, there are special topical studies that occur for a few weeks each semester during Next Generations programming.  Past topics have included marriage, parenting, finances, world religions, and more.  Topics and dates for these 3-6 weeks classes are announced via the bulletin and the E-news.
