The staff and church council has agreed that we can be in compliance with the governor’s mandates and allow people to resume worshiping in the sanctuary on Sunday mornings again starting on June 7.  Below are a few things you should know about this:

  • We do not expect to see everyone back soon.  In fact, Lilli and the Mitchell kids will be continuing to worship from home as we continue to monitor the spread of the virus.

  • We will continue to make the service available online and will continue to email worship guides.

  • We will not have nursery or children’s church.  Families are expected to sit together.  Yes, this means we might have some wiggly little ones in the pews, but many of us grew up wiggling while learning in the pews!

  • Pastor Ron has generated a seating plan that allows for adequate spacing and seating for family groups.

  • You will be expected to wear a mask when indoors if 10 years old or older.  Masks are suggested for elementary age children, but not required.  Disposable masks will be available if you forget a mask and reusable masks are available for people that do not have them.

  • We have discontinued the greeting time and would encourage people to maintain adequate distance while talking.

  • While on stage, masks are not required (per the Governor’s office to the SBC of Virginia).

  • Pastor Sam will continue to use the worship band to lead congregational singing for those present and those watching online.

  • We will not be passing the offering plate (or doing Lord’s Supper) in the near future.  Donations can continue to be made online, via text, mailed to the church, or dropped off at the entrance/exit to the sanctuary.

  • Only Door 1 and 4 will be open (the two doors near the rear of the sanctuary).

  • We will continue to monitor developments, but at this time, we do not have a potential date in mind for resuming any other programs or activities (including physically gathering for Sunday School).

  • Please prayerfully consider when you should return physically to our gathering.  There is no pressure to return.

  • Email Pastor Jason or call the church office (703-451-1500) with any questions or concerns.

Sunday Mornings will be video streamed at 10:30AM each week.  Watch here
Whether you are joining us in the sanctuary or watching online, please make an effort to set aside distractions and worship with us at 10:30, just like on a normal Sunday.  I (Pastor Jason) believe that is important that we maintain the regularity of our worship time and worship live together unless you have a very significant reason for doing otherwise.  I will make efforts to engage our children more in the sermon time because I know many of them are not used to my weekly preaching.

Worship on Wednesday with Pastor Sam will occur at 7:30PM via live video.  This will be a shorter time of worship through song, prayer, and a time in the Word led by Pastor Sam as we draw attention corporately back to the Lord during the middle of the week.
Sunday Morning Bible Study Classes for Adults are meeting via Zoom video conferencing.  This is a great opportunity to see and interact with people while studying the Bible together.  This is also a great opportunity to check out a class if you do not normally attend Adult Bible Study.
See the Zoom links and descriptions under the Worship Handouts.
